Name: Madeline Island School of the Arts Presents Photographer Craig Blacklock at the Madeline Island Museum
Date: July 31, 2018
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Madeline Island School of the Arts Presents Craig Blacklock, Landscape Photographer, and the Making of His Latest Book "St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers - The Enduring Gift."

For two and half years photographer Craig Blacklock explored the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers for a book celebrating the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. He kayaked all 260 miles of the riverways, many sections two or three times, and returned with drone mounted cameras, giving us views of the meanders and islands never before seen. Vice President Walter F. Mondale, who co-sponsored the Act in 1968 wrote the title essay, and hand signed the 120 copies of the Signature Edition.

Craig will present a one hour program about the project, and show several segments from the one hour video that accompanies the book, which has original music by Peter Mayer. Craig will have pre-signed and numbered copies of the books for sale and be happy to add a personal inscription if desired.
