Name: Shanties & Shipwrecks -- Big Top Chautauqua
Date: July 12, 2015
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
Come sail the Great Lakes and the Seven Seas with Big Top Chautauqua’s Blue Canvas Orchestra. Shanties & Shipwrecks draws on the bountiful collection of sea shanties, sailing songs and rowdy sailors-in-port songs that have come down through time from those that roamed the great waters aboard vessels of wood with canvas sails. Of course not all of the wayfaring men returned to dry land. See and hear their tales in song, story and big screen pictures. If you’re looking for a great adventure, a good time, rousing night of great music — climb aboard the big ship Chautauqua. Sea Shanties, work songs, voyageur tunes, drinking songs, ghost stories — come join the crew, you landlubber you. Also plays June 25th.
