DESCRIPTION:Free and Open to the Public!\n\nLocation:  Madeline Island Museum\n\n\n\nThe science of behavior has come a long way since Pavlov's experiments with salivating dogs.\n\n\n\nWe'll discover why a bear returns to the same backyard night after night\, how raptors learn to stay calm in front of school groups\, and the best ways to teach your pets.\n\n\n\nWe'll even try training each other to see the science in action.\n\n\n\nGreat program for families!\n\n\n\nSpeaker:  Haley Selen\, Naturalist at Cable Natural History Museum.  She is a MuseumMobile educator\, bringing the science of nature into elementary classrooms across northern Wisconsin. She loves to share the stage with live animals and connect people to Wisconsin wildlife.\n\n\n\nHaley grew up in the Minneapolis suburbs and received a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from St. Olaf College. Following a passion for animal care\, she completed internships in zoos before finding her niche as a naturalist.  She loves bringing people closer to the nature in their own backyards\, especially when she can share the stage with a live raptor. In her free time\, Haley enjoys hiking\, cross-country skiing\, training cats\, and cozying up with a good book or knitting project. \n\n\n\nA trainer and educator of live animals including raptors\, reptiles and amphibians\, Haley is also a specialist in training human family members at home.
