Renowned for their passionate musicality, impressive Technique and multicultural innovations, the Shanghai Quartet has become one of the world’s foremost chamber ensembles. Celebrated by the Washington Post for their “… wonderfully ferocious and illuminating performance” the quartet has performed with Yo Yo Ma, at the great Sidney Opera House in Australia, and appeared on screen in Woody Allen’s film “Melinda and Melinda”. The Shanghai String Quartet will be performing Saturday, July 1st on Madeline Island presented by Madeline Island Chamber Music. Their program will include works by turn of the century composer Frank Bridge and German greats Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms.
