Name: "Whispers of Wind and Water” A Summer Reflections by Steve McHugh September 8th - October 30th, 2026
Date: September 8, 2026 - October 30, 2026
Event Description:

Steve McHugh’s latest exhibition, "Whispers of Wind and Water”  invites art lovers to join in a heartfelt celebration of summer’s final days on Madeline Island. Running from September 8th through September 30th at the WOW Art Studio + Gallery, this show marks the end of the 2026 summer season with a vivid tribute to the unique experiences that define life on Lake Superior’s shores.

Through his evocative artwork, McHugh captures the essence of long beach walks, the warmth of campfires, the persistent buzz of mosquitoes and wood ticks, and the refreshing embrace of the lake’s cool breeze. This exhibition not only honors the lively interactions between visitor and island but also offers a glimpse into the quieter transition that follows—the solitude and introspection of the studio space as the season draws to a close.

"Whispers of Wind and Water” is both a commemoration of shared summer memories and a gentle farewell to the season’s vibrant energy. Visitors will have one final opportunity to explore Steve McHugh’s richly textured pieces, each resonating with the spirit of Lake Superior and Madeline Island’s natural beauty. Additionally, the show presents a perfect moment to select unique holiday gifts, thoughtfully crafted and inspired by the island’s charm.

Join us at WOW Art Studio + Gallery to experience the closing chapter of a summer well spent, through the lens of Steve McHugh’s artful storytelling. Whether you are a return visitor or new to McHugh’s work, this exhibit promises a meaningful reflection on the rhythms of nature, community, and creativity.
