Explore 150 years of Lake Superior fur trade history through a grand encampment in the stockade of the Madeline Island Museum. Interact with historians and re-enactors as they demonstrate many aspects of life at a fur trade post, including wilderness medicine, firearms, birch canoe building, blacksmithing, surveying, and other trades. There are numerous hands-on opportunities for all ages.
