The Austin Miller Gallery overlooks Lake Superior near where I was born. The Lake, with its size, power and beauty, has the capacity to take your breath away and put you squarely in the moment. That’s heady stuff for any artist. Superior’s clarity and reflections beg to be painted.

Painting nourishes the soul. Watercolor’s fluid nature guides a painter down the creative path, setting the imagination free. I’m fascinated by the luminous washes and the shimmering white of the cotton paper. Watercolors are simple, portable and highly spontaneous, attributes rarely found in other painting mediums.

I also work with hand printed collage papers, transparent acrylics and have a lot of fun painting on silk with steam set dyes.

WORKSHOPS
Our workshops center on mentoring students to find and develop their individual passion for art. Over the last 30 years in partnership with Michele Auger, we have formed life long friendships, collected fabulous memories and enjoyed countless hours painting. We welcome new students with open hearts!
